“Antony has a keen editorial eye. He is an excellent writer and his work demonstrates a genuine passion for travel. He has been a pleasure to work with.”
− Charlotte Amelines, Lonely Planet and Quirky Guide editor

Antony Barton is a freelance travel journalist and photographer. He lives in inner London and is available for freelance commissions.

Since graduating in English from Cambridge University and completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Periodical Journalism at City University, Antony has written internationally for websites and magazines on diverse topics.

As an in-house news editor, he helped secure a MemCom award for the UK’s Best Membership Magazine in 2008.

More recently, Antony has combined his love of writing with his love of travel. He has written for clients such as the Daily Mail, easyJet, Air Finland, Thomas Cook, Oddizzi, the Canadian Tourism Commission and Hotelier International and appears as a core author and assistant editor on the travel website Quirky Guide.

In April 2010, Antony began a three-month project for Sandals Resorts International in the Caribbean. During this time, he was stationed in Jamaica, Antigua and St Lucia and performed research and editorial work for Sandals couples’ resorts, Beaches family resorts and Grand Pineapple beach resorts.

Antony’s specialities are backpacking, budget travel, Thailand and south-east Asian temples and temple ruins, but he enjoys the opportunity to write about practically anything.
